Mark Davidson, age 30, was selected as a 2011 Denver Business Journal Forty (DBJ) under 40 Award winner. Below is the article that ran in the print edition of the DBJ on March 11, 2011. Congratulations Mark!
Mark Davidson believes to be a business leaders, you have to be a community leader. As director of development for Lakewood-based advertising agency blue onion, Davidson said it’s important to know the world does not stop inside the office.
Davidson grew up surrounded by community activism. His was father was a fire fighter and Navy veteran, and Davidson said he encouraged integrity and service to the community. Davidson coaches basketball at the Mount Saint Vincent Home, where abused and neglected kids live and attend school. “It works on team building, leadership and it’s getting them active,”
Davidson said. “It’s a great way to help children rebound from unfortunate experiences in their past.”
Health care is another passion for Davidson. He’s studying for a master’s degree in marketing and health care at the University of Denver and also has worked on hospital advertising. As the youngest member of the Denver Health Foundation Level One Society board of directors, Davidson participates in projects that promote outreach and awareness. Davidson helped raise money ($400K) and plan events totaling for the Pavilions Project that funded the building of the new Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at Denver Health.
